MULLET MOOT 2005
(From the Sydney North Region Rover web site).

MULLET MOOT WRAP-UP

Over 150 Rovers from all around the east coast of Australia braved the long and windy road down from Mittagong to Wollondilly River Station to join Epping Rovers for the annual Sydney North Region Summer Moot - "Mullet Moot"… more than just a haircut.

Crews from as far north as Queensland, and as far south as Victoria got into the spirit and joined the NSW Rovers for a weekend where bogans reigned supreme. Activities included a B & S ball, beer and donut relay, a peeing competition, re-enactments of quality daytime TV, thong toss, finding lost cans, balloon relays, and the only wash these guys get - a soapy wrestle. Numerous people also drove back up the hill with new, but not necessarily improved, haircuts.

Forest, being the redneck fellas they are, won fair and square… who would have thought Gusbo and Chucky would fit together in a single swag!! Second place was the first team from out of Region, a combined 1st Korrahill and 4th Wollongong. They were followed by Razorback, Berowra/Figtree and then Kissing Point.

The Best Car award went to the poo brown Torana, owned by Tim from Brush Park - hope it made the hill back up!! Russ from Razorback would have scared small children with the authenticity of his wifebeater tan, stubbies, mullet, frullet, and quality handlebar mo. Michelle from Forest was quite the redneck wife, complete with nightie, hair rollers, and a bun in the oven! Well done to these two best dressed bogans. The Best Dressed Crew went to the girls all the way from Victoria (EJ Marshall Rover Crew) who kept in ‘costume’ the whole weekend wearing their flannies but maybe that’s just how they dress down there!! We love you coz you’re Victorians...

All in all, an excellent weekend with a huge effort put in by Epping, and definitely well worth the windy drive. Youz were tops… cheers!!

FOREST'S MULLET MOOT REPORT

The news is slowly filtering through into the extended Rovering community that Forest Rovers have won Mullet Moot.

The Final standings put them well clear of a Korrahill/4th Wollongong Team, Razorback and Kissing Point.

The moot started early for Chucky and Michelle, as they travelled down early on Friday afternoon getting to the moot site at about 6pm. The road in was "interesting" and we were quite thankful to be travelling in the daylight.

When we arrived, we found the Epping guys there, but nonone else yet,. so we had the pic of the spots. We proceeded to put up out Marquis, Drining Fly nd Tents and inflate the pool. As the night moved on, more people arrvied starting at about 7 or so with arrival of the gys from Wollongong. The balance of the crew was to met at 7pm at the Hall, but apparently time took over and they arrived at the moot site at about 1:30am. one of the last to arrive, but when they arrvied they found the site alreay set up.

Getting up in the mmorning, we found that Gusbo had brought the BBQ but no hose for the gas. This led to us borrowing Mona Vale's heat and cmobining Lunch and Breakfast later in the day.

The morning Round robin was good, with many and varied activities, I must say I've never urinated at a moot before in broad daylight. Carrying horseshoes was fun as was walking bliind, the arty side came out as we painted a bogan. All dressed in our Forest Flannos (from Bushdance 2003) we had a god morning and thought we did OK. Michelle was dressed to kill as MA with baby on board and matching accessory shotgun.

Lunch came and went and the gut was refilled. The arvo's activities were grouse with ballon games and the like. Then came the sav hunt, with its weirdness of nipplerings, donuts, porno mags and gusbo wearing too little clothing. We did OK and had most of the list. Anyway, then to frock up for the B&S, not much frocking was done, but dinner was soon upon us and the crew stratched for a while. A nice meal with fair chunks of meat and veggies and some realy "interesting" No Frills Mustard.

The Scorebaord showed "Korragong" leading followed by Kissing Pint and Brush Park with us a distant 6th.

Then to the tent for Trivia. An interesting lot of questions, many quirky and the multiple choice stuff seemed more like multiple guess!!! Kissing Point won the trivia with 24 out of 40(?)

The curious thig about the night was the number of Forest teams entered, you had to make sure you got the right sheet back.

Then came Dessert of sticky date pudding which was great though may cause conceren ad give a living to Dentists for many a year to come...

Then the DJ cranked it up and a fire was started and people settled in for a night of fun, Davebo help with preeedings by reallocating some of the warm water from drums to people's clothing.

All in all the night was good and many a good hangover seemed to be had.

I got up about 8:30ish and woke up the crew in preparation for our favourite event - The Iron Gut - or Roadkill breakfast as it was being called. We postponed our Crew breakfast until afterwards, and got frocked up (or down!!) for the feast awaiting. The foods were a really good lot of choices, with Meat pies, Garlic Paste, Buttermilk, Orange Juice, Tabasco Sauce, Youghurt, Twiggy sticks, Sardines, Corn Thins, Bread Rolls and other foods being supplied. All bar one Forest Rover (The Birthday girl) took part with Gut virgin Rowdy givining it a pretty serious shake. Forest finished 1, 2 3 with Chucky, Gusbo and Davebo making up the placings. then to the river to rinse and prepare for some Case carrying and other things. Many came to the conclusion that Gusbo and Chucky shouldn't get in a swag together, let alon swap clothes, let alone without reggies on!!! Anyway, then came the wrestling. The ranks from Forest seemed to swell and the epping wrestling pit took a punishing, from Gusbo disihing out wedgies to chucky and Garth Nagle power wrestling. it was great, the only problem was that the power wrestling took its toll on the pit and it busted leading to an end of proceedings.

Then to the river again to clean up, dry up and get ready for closing parade. Closing parade was agood with lots of announcements and a Happy birthday song.

The moot was finished and everyone started to make the long journey home. WELL almost everyone. Forest stayed for a relaxing arvo of Crew chat and Skin prep as well as fixing some mullets with clippers, napping and just general recovery from a big moot.

Johnny Williams came over at one stage just before Epping left to say that the warden said we could stay the night if we wanted at no extra charge!!!

Either way, we eventually left at about 7pm and travelled out on the long windy road toward home. We stopped at Phesants Nest for some "Dinner" and realised why we don't usually stop there, the food was at best orindary and made th Iron gut of the earlier part of the day look real appetising.

Anyway, we got back to the hall, packed up and were general home by 11 or so.
A goot moot being had by all.

And that is about all I have to say about that.

Chucky
